Gotta Have a New Purse
I've had it. I've got to get a new purse, and not because it's an excuse to go shopping.
You see, I have always had a small purse. You can't fit much into a small purse and that's why I like them.
My daughter, with her wonderful fashion sense, explained to me that I needed a new purse. She told me I needed
something larger. So, I listened, and bought a new, larger purse. I had to keep up with the times,
you know. But, now I'm sorry I did that. I have to climb into my new purse just to locate anything.
Everything keeps getting lost in there and everything is multiplying! I can't figure out where all the
stuff is coming from! There is a principle that claims wherever there is a given amount
of space, things will fill it. (I'll get back with the name of that principle!) My purse must know
and love that principle! I never used to have this problem with a small purse. I'm going back to my old ways.
Small purses rock!

"Home is Where The Heart Is!"
And our stuff knows that too! Everything in your home should have a home of its own.
Things become gypsies when they don't have a home to live in. Things float around from place to place looking for
a home of their own to stay. They get kicked around, pushed to the side, and eventually become
lost in the shuffle. Take charge of your things and don't allow them to become gypsies. Assign them a home
to live in, then take the time to deliver them to their homes when they have completed their day's work. Your things
will then obey and be there when you need them! Now if our things could talk...

A new feature!
Well, here goes my try at a blog! I thought this might be a way to tell you about things
I've learned from my clients or about organizing in general. Hopefully you'll check back for new postings!
One thing I've learned over the years is that technology, although it can be a good thing, can also create more
work for ourselves. I'm always telling my kids that "a phone is a phone. It is not a camera or a computer."
My mother didn't have a cell phone. She could go to the grocery store without the world nagging her to do something
for it! She could ride peacefully in the car knowing that emergencies would take care of themselves. I suppose her
era was a time when people trusted each other a little more. My mother could visit a friend and not have to
worry about being rude with an interruption from a little machine! How many more phone calls, emails, and voicemail
can you take? Sometimes I'm ready to dump them all and go back to my Mom's time when life was a whole lot simpler!
What a concept!
